Yankees West?

Dodgers Yankees West??

Since the Magic Johnson has become a part owner in the new ownership group of the Dodgers they have been spending money. They have acquired Josh Beckett, Hanley Ramirez. Adrian Gonzalez Carl Crawford and just this past weekend signed Zach Grienkie to the second highest contract in baseball history for a pitcher 6 years for 147 million. The Dodgers are on pace to have a 214 million day payroll by opening day and that would be the highest in MLB history more than any Yankee team. Will all this spending mean success odds say no, there have been many teams that tried using the Yankees former approach but haven’t come up with anything at the end? 2011 Red sox signed Carl Crawford traded for Adrian Gonzalez were even crowned as’ This best baseball team ever” by experts and where expected to win over 120 games they have a September collapse and missed the playoffs now Crawford and Gonzalez are both Dodgers and the Redsox”s are in rebuilding mode, 2011 Phillies signed Cliff Lee and were the best team in baseball in the regular season but got knocked out by eventual world series champs cardinals now they are an aging roster that looks to be stuck with 2 untradeable contracts Ryan Howards and Cliff lees and after giving Cole Hamels a new contract it looks like the Phillies will be in somewhat financially strapped for a while. And last but certainly not least the Dodgers cross town rivals the LA Angels they made a splash last year by signing Albert Puljos and C.j Wilson and even trading for Zach Grienke in the middle of the season and still missed the playoffs and just Recently they have signed Josh Hamilton. The Dodgers have spent a lot of money and generated a lot of excitement with them looking there trying to build a winner but sometimes spending money doesn’t equal success.

Knicks Back

The New York Knicks haven’t won a title since 1973 and have been a mediocre team at best for the last decade, but right now they are the best team in the NBA. With a 16-5 record and number 1 in the East and with 2 blowouts to the defending NBA Champions Miami Heat at Home and in Miami. What has made the Knicks so good so far this season the Knicks have done it with hard nose defense ranking 10th in the NBA in scoring defense at 95.3 ppg and by making a lot of 3 pointers and  a good bench.

Jason Kidd has become a good floor leader and has provided timely 3 pointers and good floor leadership Novak continues to hit 3’s when he is on the floor and Rasheed Wallace has given the Knicks valuable minutes and J.R Smith is one of the most explosive sixth men in the Nba and has already hit a game winning shot this season.
Carmelo Anthony is playing some of the best basketball of his career right now 27.7 ppg almost 7 rebounds per game hustling for loose balls and has even been playing good defense.
Can the Knicks keep this up and make a run in the playoffs that is the question will they continue hitting 3’s at the rate they are making them and will their rebounding problem or lack thereof come back to haunt them and how will Amare come back and fit in with a team that looks like it has a lot of chemistry with each other on the floor.
