Giants vs Eagles Preview

NYG VS the Eagles

The undermanned Giants on a short week absolutely dominated the Panthers with big games from backups Ramsen Barden and Andre Brown. The Eagles went to Arizona and got punched in the mouth by the Cardinals defense.

Key Match ups

Will Beatty and Sean Locker vs. Trent Cole and Jason Babin

Ever since Beatty has got to start there seems to be some stability on the Giants oline and Eli has only been sacked once in the last 2 games. Cole and Babin both played good against the cardinals getting constant pressures and sacks against cobb.Keeping Eli off his feet would be the best way to stop this passing offense.

Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz vs. Nmandi and Drc

Nicks will be coming back after having more than 10 days of rest after his great performance against the bucs and Cruz has already hurt the eagles in both games he has played against them. Nmandi and DRC are both man to man corners who like to press wrs on the line of scrimmage, but Nicks and Cruz are both physical wrs who are great route runner’s ad beat press coverage a lot.

Jpp vs. Demetrius Bell

The giants Dline is full of talented pass rushers and Jpp is the best he has freakish athleticism with a great mix of speed and strength and he is an even better run stopper than pass rusher. Demetrius Bell was the player the Eagles signed to replace all pro left tackle Jason Peters and Bell has struggled so far and it won't be getting easier for him to try and contain JPP.

Brent Celek vs. Michael Boley Celek is one of the most underrated receiving tight ends in the NFL and is one of Mike Vicks security blanket. Michael Boley is the best Lb. the Giants have and it’s usually his assignment to cover the tight end and he has had an interception in the first 3 games of the season.

Lesean McCoy vs. The Giants front 4 McCoy is one of the most explosive ad best running backs and has had a lot of success against the giants. After Getting run over by Demarco Murray on the opening night the Giants run defensive has greatly improved shutting down the Panthers good ground game.

Jeremy Maclin vs. Prince Amukamara

Maclin was out for Cardinals last week he has become the number 1 wr for the Eagles over Jackson. Amukamara made his debut and was physical and had a pass deflection he will most likely be the one who has to cover Maclin and he must be physical with Maclin at the line of scrimmage if he wants to slow down Maclin.

NYG 24 Eagles 17 Giant Eagle games are always close but the Eagles oline is struggling and the Giants Dline is starting to get in synch and I trust the ball in Eli Manning’s hand over Mike Vick and I think the Giants with Brown and Bradshaw will be able to run up the middle on the Eagles.

Eagles Vs Ravens

Eagles vs. Ravens

The Eagles were able to sneak a victory against the Browns despite Mike Vick throwing 4 interceptions because of how great their defense was able to play. The Ravens put up 40 in their home opener against the Bengals and the defense was impressive as it usually is Ed reed returned an interception into a td.

Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin vs. Nmandi Asmougha and Dominque Rodgers Cromartie

Cam Cameron looks like he is finally going to let the handcuffs off Flacco and let him air it out. Torrey Smith is the Ravens best big play wr and Boldin is still physical wr in the middle who gets first down. Nmandi and DRC are good man to man corners and will try to be physical at the line of scrimmage to both of these wide outs to make sure Flacco holds on to the ball longer than he wants to.

Ray Rice vs. Demco Ryan’s and Kurt Coleman

Ray Rice is still the best player on this Ravens offensive and the Eagles have had issues stopping the run over the year and Rice also catches a lot of passes out of the backfield and Ryan’s and Coleman will be the primary ones who will be assigned to him if he gets out on the flat.

Ravens secondary Ed Reed and Ladarius Webb vs. Mike Vick

Mike Vick threw 4 interceptions on Sunday against the Browns and now faces a Ravens defense that has one of the greatest ball hawks of all time in Ed Reed and one of the best corners in the league in Ladarius Webb. The Ravens love to blitz and it’s well known that Mike Vick Struggles reading when the Blitz come it could be a long Sunday for him if he plays anything like he did against the browns.

Eagles DLine Trent Cole Jason Babin vs. Ravens tackles

The Ravens have some questions at both of their tackle spots and will face one of the best pass rushing tandems in Cole and Babin if Cole and Babin can win their match ups and pressure Flacco this can take away the threat of the Ravens going for deep throws.

Evan Mathis vs. Haloti Ngata

Mathis is one of the best guards in the NFL Ngata is the best defensive tackle in the NFL Ngata was dominate in the home opener getting sacks stopping the run and stopping screens Mathis surely will get help trying to block this beast and not letting him get his hands on Mike Vick.

Lesean McCoy vs.  Ray Lewis and the rest of the ravens LB’s

McCoy is one of the most explosive running backs in the league and probably has the best cutback moves in the league and when he gets to the 2^nd level of the Ravens defense they will need Ray and the rest of the linebackers make sure they take proper angles and tackle McCoy who gets a lot of yards after the contact.

Prediction Ravens 21 Eagles 14 I think Andy Reid will try to protect Mike Vick and make sure the Eagles try and run the ball more than they did last week but when he does throw I think this play making ravens secondary will get at least 1 interception off him and Flacco will make plays on this secondary especially against the safeties if he is given time by tackles to stay on his feet.

Lions vs 49ners preview

Lions vs. 49ners

The 49ners come off an impressive win against the Packers at Lambeau Field showing  the same dominant defense it played last year and same good running game add along to the mix was the new weapons Randy moss caught a td pass and Alex Smith has a very good game. The Lions 1 year after finally making it to the playoffs after a long absence came out flat against the rams and Stafford played horrible for the most part but was able to lead the Lions to the game winning td drive in the final seconds.

Key Matchups

49ners front 7 of Justin Smith Aldon Smith Willis and Bowman Vs. The Lions Offensive line

The 49ners great front 7 put pressure in Rodgers face most of the game and made tackles that so the packer’s skill players couldn’t turn any catches into big gains. The Lions are a primarily a passing team and the Lions will have to make sure Matt Stafford stays up on his feet if they want to beat the 49ners.

Veron Davis vs. Louis Delmas

Veron Davis Caught a td pass in the opener and did his usual solid blocking to help the 49ners running game but it’s his receiving ability that makes him so dangerous as he is too fast for linebackers and too big for safeties it will be up to the lions safeties primarily Delmas to try and contain the explosive Davis.

Randy Moss and Michael Crabtree vs. Chris Houston and Bill Bentley

Randy Moss caught a td on opening day and looks like he still has something left in the tank corner was a weak spot for the lions especially at giving up big plays so Houston and Bentley will need to play tight coverage on Moss and Crabtree and take away the outside game of the 49ners.

Ndamukong Suh and Cliff Avril Vs. the 49ners offensive line

Suh and Avril are the best players on the talented lions d line and they first need to make sure they stop the run of frank gore and try to put Alex Smith in long third and longs and make him beat them with long  throws down the field. The 49ners offensive line good great push against the packers and gore and company ran all over them but they did allow Clay Matthews to sack Smith 2.5 times on Sunday

Calvin Johnson vs. the Entire 49ners secondary

The 49ners where able to contain the packers collection of talented wrs on Sunday but now they face the best wr in the NFL in Calvin Johnson and I’m sure they will use all sorts of double teams to try and stop Johnson.

Brandon Pettigrew vs. Patrick Willis

Pettigrew has become one of Stafford’s favorite targets the big tight end can get in between seems and has good hands and is a red zone threat. Willis is the best LB in the NFL not only because of his ability to play the run or getting to the qb but also because he does a great job at covering backs and tight ends and I’m sure he will be one of the main guys covering Pettigrew.

Prediction 49ners 27 Lions 17 The Lions are a 1 dimensional team and why I do think they will be able to get a few big plays in the secondary I also think that the lions front 7 will get to Stafford and put some hits on him and force a couple errant throws which the 49ners playing making secondary can get some interception opportunities. Alex Smith played well last week and against a suspect Lions secondary I think he will be allowed to take a few more deep throws to Moss and Davis.

Bears Packers Preview

Week 2 Preview

Green Bay vs. the Bears

 The Packers will travel to Chicago after a disappointing home opening loss to the 49ners to face the Bears who gave Andrew Luck a rude welcome to the NFL. Rodgers faced a tough defense in the 49ners now and he will face another tough defense lead by all pro defensive end Julius Peppers. Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall played with the same chemistry they had with each other when they were in Denver during week 1, and Matt Forte showed why the Bears finally gave him the long term contract he wanted.

Key Matchup Brandon Marshall vs. Charles Woodson or Tramon Williams

Marshall is a big physical wr who can go in the middle and also go deep and knows Cutler and woodson and Williams have horrible in coverage since 2010 I see Marshall having his way with them.

Matt Forte vs. A.J Hawk

Forte is as dangerous of a receiver out the backfield as he is a runner and when he goes to catch passers it will be up to one of this LB’s to try and contain him and I don’t think they can.

Julius Peppers vs. Bryan Bulaga

Julius Peppers is one of the best athletes in the NFL and one of the best defensive ends in the league is as good of a pass rusher as he is at stopping the run Bryan Bulaga will have his hands full if Green bay doesn’t chip or give him help on the edge.

Randall Cobb in the slot vs. any Bears Cornerback

Everybody knows Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson but the Packers might have found another play maker Cobb who was one of the few effective offensive players vs. the 49ners he made a lot of big catches in the slot and returned a punt return for a td. And with the defenses giving more focus on Jennings and Nelson on the Outside look for Cobb to have a big night on the inside.

Clay Matthews vs. Gabe Carimi

After an off year sack wise last year Clay Matthews looks like he is back to his 2010 ways as he had 2.5 sacks in the opening win and was the only packers defensive player to make any impact plays Carimi is in his second season and will have trouble trying to block the athletic Matthews off the edge.

Rodgers vs. Bears secondary

Rodgers is 1-3 in his last 4 starts and has played subpar for his standards in all 3 out of the 4 games but the last time he faced the Bears he threw for a career high 5 tds.

Prediction Clay Matthews looked like the 2010 Matthews in the opener and I can’t see Rodgers playing subpar for another game so I got the Packers 31 Bears 27
