NFC West Preview

NFC West Preview
San Francisco 49ners Best offensive Player Frank Gore/ Vernon Davis Best Defensive Player Patrick Willis
The Good The 49ners have loads of defensive talent that includes the best middle linebacker in football Patrick Willis and the best 3-4 defensive end in football in Justin Smith to go with Navorro  Bowman Ahmad Brooks Carlos Rogers  Dashon Goldson and the emerging Aldon Smith the 49ners defense should remain a great unit. Vernon Davis was great in the playoffs and reminded people he is still one of the best tight ends in the league. The 49ners added weapons for Alex Smith to throw to in Randy Moss and Mario Manningham.
The Bad They still have Alex Smith and even though he improved last year he is still an average qb at best. The 49ners where a run first team and still managed to give up more sacks than the Packers Saints and Giants. The 49ners won’t be sneaking up on anybody this year and they will face great qbs like Aaron Rodgers Brees Eli Manning Brady Stafford and Cutler this year.

At Best 12-4
Realistically 11-5
Seattle Seahawks Best offensive player Marshawn Lynch Best Defensive player Earl Thomas
The good Marshawn Lynch rushed for 1,204 yards to go with 12 tds last year. THE Seahawks had the 7th best defense in the NFL and Earl Thomas is on his way to being the best safety in the NFL. Russell Wilson is Athletic and a very good passer this rookie should create some exciting plays for the hawks this season.
The Bad While rookie Doug Baldwin has a good year the Seahawks don’t have any explosive wrs on the outside. The 49ners look like the class of this division and the NFC might be too tough for the Seahawks to get a wild card spot. Russell Wilson is still a rookie so it will take him some time to get adjusted to the NFL.
At Worst 7-9
At Best 10-6
Realistically 8-8
Arizona Cardinals Best Offensive player Larry Fitzgerald Best Defensive Player Calais Campbell
The Good Larry Fitzgerald is still one of the best wrs in the league coming off his 5th consecutive 1,000 yard receiving season. Patrick Peterson was dynamic on special teams as a returner. Calais Campbell has improved every season in his career he finished with 72 tackles and 8 sacks last year.
The Bad Kevin Kolb and John Skelton are on the Tim Tebow Level of terrible quarterbacks. The offensive line is horrific at best. Patrick Peterson was great as a returner but he was one of the worst corners in the NFL last year. Beanie Wells and Ryan Williams are both injury prone so what will be the Cardinals running game.
At Worst 6-10
At Best 9-7
Realistically 8-8
St Louis Rams Best Offensive player Steven Jackson Best Defensive Player Chris Long
The good they have Jeff Fisher as their new coach and have a bunch of picks in the next 2 drafts. Chris Long had a pro bowl season and Robert Quinn showed a lot of potential in his rookie season. Steven Jackson is still one of the best running backs in the league, and Cortland Finnegan was brought in to help improve the secondary
The Bad the Talent around Sam Bradford when Danny Ammendola is the best wr on the team then you know your receivers are terrible. Bradford is going to have his third offensive coordinator in his third season in the NFL not a good situation for a young qb. The defense was horrible last year and where the 30th ranked rushing defense in the league.

 NFC North Preview
Green bay Packers Best Offensive player Aaron Rodgers Best Defensive Player Clay Matthews
The Good Aaron Rodgers might be the best qb in the NFL and with talented collection of pass catchers that include Greg Jennings Jordy Nelson Jermicheal Finley and Donald Driver it’s no reason Rodgers should have a huge drop off in terms of numbers this year. Fantasy football nerds look out for second year Kick/Punt Returner Randall Cobb to play an even bigger role in the offense this year. The Defense was terrible last year but it did lead the NFL in turnovers last year
The Bad This defense was historically horrible last year especially at defending the pass and Future Hall of Famer Charles woodson isn’t getting any younger and his days as a shutdown corner maybe over. The Packers still have no proven opposite pass rusher besides Clay Matthews. Have the Packers recovered mentally from the beating the giants gave them at home in the playoffs

Chicago Bears Best Offensive player Brandon Marshall Best Defensive player Julius Peppers
The Good Jay Cutler finally gets the number 1 wr he has been asking for in his old Bronco teammate Brandon Marshall. Matt Forte and Michael Bush should form one of the best duo running threats in NFL. The Bears still have the best defense in this division with all world defensive end Julius Peppers and Linebacker Lance Briggs.

The Bad Jay Cutler has been sacked 105 times over the last 2 years and the Bears didn’t do anything to upgrade the line. Can Cutler and Forte stay healthy the whole season and can Brandon Marshall be a model citizen or the malcontent who was traded by the broncos and the dolphins. Age concern for the defense the best 4 players on the bears’ defense Peppers Briggs Urlacher and Tillman are all in their thirties.
At Worst 9-7
At Best 11-5
Realistically 10-6
Detroit Lion Best Offensive player Calvin Johnson Best Defensive Player Cliff Avrill
The Good Calvin Johnson plays like a man amongst boys and has established himself as the best wr in the NFL. Matt Stafford was finally able to play 16 games this year and up put up over 40 tds and 5 thousand passing yards. Tight end Brandon Pettigrew has turned into one of the most reliable tight ends in football. Cliff Avrill wants a long term deal so I expect him to go out and have another ten plus sack season.
The Bad The secondary is horrible at best and their best player in the secondary Louis Delmas has had nagging injuries so far in his career. Can Matt Stafford be as durable this season as he was last year? After a great rookie year Suh regressed and if the lions want this defense to get better they need suh to regain his rookie form.
At Worst 8-8
At Best 11-5
Realistically 9-7
Minnesota Vikings Best Offensive player Adrian Peterson Best Defensive Player Jared Allen
The Good Ap acl has improved faster than anybody would have thought it would and has a good chance to play in the season opener. Percy Harvin is one of the most versatile wrs in the NFL. Rookie Matt Kali looks to help protect second year qb Christian Ponder. Jared Allen is the best defensive end in football and is relentless at rushing the passer and stopping the run.
The Bad This team has a lot of big names but it is still the least talented team in this division by far. How will AP recover from his acl injury, and will Percy Harvin’s migraine problem into play this season. This secondary is terrible and when you play in a division with Aaron Rodgers Matt Stafford and Jay Cutler that isn’t a good thing

NFC East Preview
NY Giants Best offensive Player Eli Manning Best Defensive player JPP
The Good The Giants are the reigning super bowl champs and Eli Manning is in the prime years of his career and should continue to get better and has 2 great wide receivers to throw to in Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz to throw to and 2 new weapons in David Wilson and Reuban Randle to help offset the loss of Brandon Jacobs and Mario Manningham. The Giants have the best pass rush in the league with a fully healthy Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyoria to go along with the monster known as JPP the Giants should lead the league in sacks this year. The Giants have improved their linebacker depth and have underrated Corey Webster and Kenny Philips in the secondary.
The Bad the Offensive line was horrible in 2011 which resulted in the giants being last in the NFL in rushing. Who will be the corner opposite Corey Webster? Prince and Terrell Thomas are hurt and will most likely miss the start of the season. The Schedule on paper the Giants have the hardest schedule in the NFL with 7 games against teams who went to the playoffs last year
At Worst 9-7
At Best 13-3
Realistically 11-5
Philadelphia Eagles Best offensive player Lesean McCoy Best Defensive Player Trent Cole
The Good Lesean McCoy was a beast last year with a combined 1,624 total yards and 20 tds.The Eagles had 50 sacks lead by Jason Babin’s 18 sacks him and Trent Cole might be the best defensive end duo in the NFL.

The Bad It’s become not an if but when in the season will Mike Vick get hurt. Can Desean Jackson come back and be the wr he was in 09 and 10 for the eagles and can Nmandi rebound from an off year and be the shutdown corner the Eagles paid him to be. The Eagles best player and best left tackle in football Jason Peters might not play a down this year.
At Worst 8-8
At Best 12-4
Realistically 10-6

Dallas Cowboys Best offensive player Tony Romo Best Defensive player Demarcus Ware
The Good the Cowboys have the offensive weapons to match up with any team with the talented but very dumb Dez Bryant to go with Miles Austin Demarco Murray and Jason Witten. The Cowboys have the best defensive player in the NFL in Demarcus Ware to go along with emerging star Sean Lee. The cowboys signed corner Brandon Carr and Drafted Morris Claiborne to help a secondary that was trash last year.
The Bad the Cowboys have already been banged up with Dez Miles Witten Ratliff and Mike Jenkins all questionable for the season opener. The offensive line is terrible nobody besides Tyrone Smith should be starters in the NFL. The Safeties are average at best and questions still remain if Brandon Carr can be the number 1 corner who can lock up talented wrs in the NFC like Nicks and Cruz and Maclin and Jackson.Whispers around Dallas is that Cowboys championship window is closing but umm when was it even open.
At Worst 7-9
At Best 10-6
Realistically 8-8
The Washington Redskins Best offensive player Fred Davis Best Defensive Player Brian Orakpo
The Good Rg3 has given Redskin fans something they haven’t had in years and that is hope. The Redskins have the talented Fred Davis who should be one of RG3’s favorite targets this year. Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan should improve even more this year and come close to being an elite pass rushing tandem, and London Fletcher is still a tackling machine.
The Bad the Redskins aren’t known as the Dead skins for no apparent reason they have been a terrible franchise for a long time. They play in the NFC east and they aren’t ready to compete with the Giants Eagles or Cowboys for NFC east supremacy. How quickly can RG3 transition to the NFL and can that terrible oline protect him.
